Phillips are a known and trusted brand and they don't disappoint with this wireless rechargeable speaker system. It's Bluetooth, so you can connect your iphone/android phone and has a USB point to plug in your ipod or other music device. It took me a minute or two to work out how to kick up the sound (you have to use the volume settings on your device as well as the volume buttons on the speaker), but once I figured this out, I was off. The sound from this little speaker is really good, doesn't warp when you crank the volume and doesn't vibrate on the table or bench. The unit comes with an AC adapter, which charges the internal rechargeable battery, but you can also unplug it and take it outside to bop along to while you're gardening or just relaxing outdoors. It's also great value for money, as some of these wireless speaker systems can cost upwards of $300. Overall, very happy with my purchase :-)Read full review

The larger size doesn't make it particularly conveniently portable, but with it comes bigger better sound. It definitely sounds better than most speakers on a TV and is a great accompaniment to a PC, laptop or phone. It's size and volume is perfect for a bedroom or desk. My only regret is at the time of purchase not knowing there was a more powerful version with bass reflex, but the added power and bass come at the cost of being a bigger device than this one (can't remember the model number right now). So, it's more suited to being in a bedroom or study than being a truly portable Bluetooth speaker.
