Its near impossible to get solid base from any small, wide range speaker but this unit drives a better base than most and the overall sound is well balanced, spacious and clear; with no noticeable distortion at max volume. At very low volumes it is surprisingly detailed; which makes it perfect on the bedside table when you want gentle sounds to send you off to sleep. Too many Blue tooth features to mention here but the system is very well thought out and intuitive. Battery life is surprisingly long especially if you use the input device's volume to increase the sound level rather than the speaker's own volume control- Better to set speaker at midrange and phone at max output to achieve good sound level. With both phone and speaker maxed out, the sound level will fill an average room and drift through to the rooms adjoining. I have bought 5 different BT speakers over the past year or so and this is by far the best of them- so much so I bought one for my niece in England to take to boarding school and 2 more for good friends as presents- I bought one more for me too- why? Cos they are running out and I am worried the newer model may not be as perfectly suited to my needs as this one is!Read full review

I had my doubts that a Bluetooth speaker with a price tag less than $40 would be much good. However, I am very happy to be proved wrong in this case. It's a nice sized speaker with fantastic undistorted output at full volume. The 3D effect is great too! The range is better than the specs too, I can move around anywhere in my house, even go up the street with my phone in my pocket and it didn't get disconnected. Would make a fantastic present for anyone! Grab one while you can!

I have Windows 7 on my laptop. This requires a CSR 4.0 USB device & download of the software in order to pair the BS3. A generic Chinese device can be had for a few bucks! After pairing it's simple to use. I sit on the verandah with the laptop inside about 30 ft. away & enjoy a much higher quality of sound than the notebook speakers could ever produce. The 3D option is also great depending on what your listening to.
