This is a second camera supplemental to my Canon 7D that I bought to use as a travel camera to replace my Canon 350D. The attraction is that I can use my range of APS-C compatible EF lenses and other equipment. So far I find it meets my requirements for a small light DSLR camera that is easy to walk around with with a picture quality that is hard for me to distinguish from my 7D. The principal attraction is its really small size and ultra lightness, so very easy to use one handed and carry around discreetly all day. It allows me to shoot in RAW and do post processing well. Pleasant surprises were the touch screen which is handy in Q mode and its large size after the tiny one on the 350D. It does have a polycarbonate feel not the solid weighty metal feel of my old Canon AE1 or Leica IIIc which are similar in size, but the point of the exercise is lightness. I am teaming it up with Canon 10-18mm and 18-55mm and Yong Nuo 35mm lenses which all suit its small size. Overall I am happy with the balance of performance, value and compactness to let me take good quality shots while travelling.Read full review
