Great product, I would buy it again!
I bought it as a gift to my husband. He likes photography and i think it is a great camera to start with. It is easy to use, and the photos are beautiful. I think that if i had to chang something i would like a better flash because the inside photos are a little dark. I would reccomended this camera to everyone who wants to start photography. If i compare this camera to the compact i had before there is no comparison. Better light, better photos...everything better.I bought it as a gift to my husband. Buy this camera!
I've graduated to one of these after years of 'bridge' cameras and, before that, Minolta film SLRs. This was always the one that I coveted; the top end of the Nikon 'pro-sumer'range, after the D40 and D60 and it's brilliant! In a solidly-built case is everything you need to take really good pictures. I have recently bought a Tamron 70-300VR lens and the VR is essential for this monster zoom as the Nikons do not have vibration reduction built into the bodies. For wildlife photography, the IQ of this camera is superb if you take a little time and care setting up your shot. In emergencies, even 'Auto' gives good results but it's always worth experimenting with the non-automatic settings if you're keen to take advantage of this camera's best features. The weight of the camera precludes taking it on long hikes unless you have a good backpack to cart along the lenses, tripod, filters and all the other bits and pieces that make this hobby worthwhile. But the weight also steadies the camera, giving good results even on snap shots. I wouldn't swap the D80 for anything else - a serious camera for a serious hobby-photographer. If you can get one, with its 18-135 kit lens for under £300, (I did, on EBay), buy it immediately and enjoy!

A must have for the budding Photographer. Can't praise it enough.
I have wanted this mid range DSLR Camera for a few years, though it was well out of my price range. eBay has bought the camera into my price range, and im overjoyed at finally having this camera. I am not a photographer by any means and started using the Auto mode for ease. Now im exploring the other options and using tips and tricks to take proper photo's
