Plugged in once - it both did not fit correctly and broke
I bought this product as a refresh for an original cable, which works great but seems to have gotten mildew. After removing it from the box and plugging it in once (not even unrolling it), it both did not fit correctly and immediately broke. Thank goodness my device does not seem to be damaged - it was that bad.The original cable has a good fit and satisfyingly snaps into place when inserted. The replacement had to be jammed in and had no snapping effect. When removed, the connector broke free from the housing as pictured.These cables are of course directional. The graphic indicates the directionality. The graphic and the directionality match for both cables. Yes, it was inserted correctly. Side note, notice the huge degradation in print quality on the replacement vs. the original, although I wouldn't mind this if it worked.The devices in question are a 1st generation iPod Nano and a 4th generation iPod Touch. The original cable has a good fit and satisfyingly snaps into place when inserted. The replacement had to be jammed in and had no snapping effect. When removed, the connector broke free from the housing as pictured.
These cables are of course directional. The graphic indicates the directionality. The graphic and the directionality match for both cables. Yes, it was inserted correctly. Side note, notice the huge degradation in print quality on the replacement vs. the original, although I wouldn't mind this if it worked.
The devices in question are a 1st generation iPod Nano and a 4th generation iPod Touch. I tested it on the iPod Touch. Both of these devices are listed as compatible, even on the back of the box.
I wish I was able to provide comment on something more useful, such as data transfer or cable length (it should be 1ft longer than the original, which comes in at 3ft).
Do not trust this cable with your devices. What an absolute waste.
