Nice thickness
This fireplace insulation blanket has good thickness and stitching. It only has strong magnets for the top and bottom but could benefit from additional magnets on the sides. It does have a Velcro attachment option if you don't have a metal frame. The bricks on my fireplace are not flat so the Velcro option was not viable for me. It is working with just the top and bottom magnets, but I might add some to the sides.

I've had this fireplace draft guard installed for a little while but the weather has been pretty mild, so I didn't feel I could properly review it until now. It finally snapped COLD & I do think it makes a noticeable difference to the warmth of our family room. We don't use our fireplace because one of my kids has an intense fear of fire. So, we actually have our TV stand on the fireplace but it's always been a bit chilly in the winter months when sitting anywhere near the fireplace... not anymore!
We used the magnets for installation because the dimensions of the interior part of our fireplace are slightly off from the actual draft guard (and drilling into brick seemed like it would be a hassle). The magnets are quite large (pictured next to a water bottle cap for comparison), very strong, & the easiest means for installation. Plus, they leave nothing behind should we ever decide to sell our house.
The velcro strips that are already attached seemed strong too, just not a good option for our needs. The provided hooks are a nice quality and the screw sets for these even include a silver screw cover that matches the hooks & hides the screw head, if you use the black plastic piece when installing them. I feel that is a nice touch, although they don't explain how to install these in order to use the covers (or even what the extra pieces are for... it took me a minute to figure out what they were for).
The draft guard itself is very thick and well constructed. It's one of those things that I didn't even know existed or that I needed until I stumbled across it - gotta love Amazon! Well worth the price and would totally recommend it!

Unfortunately, the damper in our fireplace tends to open on it's own when it is windy outside, letting cold drafts in. We have a simple enough fireplace screen with doors that is made of metal, so I ordered this to see if it works.
It comes with magnets, hooks, and velcro sticky tape. Luckily for me, the magnets worked just fine. There are 3 magnet pockets at the top and 3 at the bottom, and they supply 6 pretty decent magnets for the pockets. They clamped onto the screen frame pretty securely, no issues there.
My screen frame is couple of inches shorter each way than the cover, but they don't put the pockets right at the corners. That allows some flexibility for size; I'd get whatever size is closest to your frame.
I'm not sure how much it will flatten out, and it would have been nice to have magnets on the side as well. However, it blocks most of the opening pretty well and should cut down on drafts pushing through.
As I was writing this review, it occured to me that my frame is not fixed to the fireplace. I moved the cover to the inside of the frame and pushed the frame back into place, so the cover is pinned between the wall and frame. Pretty tight seal that way, I'll use it like that!
